20 Fun Facts
- I was born in Zlín, and my parents put me into gymnastics because I used to climb all over the furniture at home.
- At the age of three, I started practicing both artistic and rhythmic gymnastics, as well as figure skating.
- When I was six, I chose artistic gymnastics. I still remember the moment I made that decision.
- At first, I was really bad at gymnastics, always finishing last in every competition. Gymnastics gave me the mindset that I can learn anything I want, even if I’m really bad at it for a long time in the beginning.
- I sacrificed a lot for gymnastics; I even traveled with my coach to train in other city.
- Both of my grandmothers did gymnastics. Neither of my parents did.
- My grand-aunt even competed at the 1972 Olympics in Munich in artistic gymnastics.
- Besides gymnastics, I always loved math at school.
- Because of that, I was quite unpopular both in primary school and high school.
- I created my first website for a business of my dad at the age of 12.
- Thanks to attending math camps, I chose to study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics in Prague.
- Working at trampoline park after moving to Prague was a dream come true.
- I completed my master’s in Mathematics for Computer Science at Charles University. It was challenging, but definitely worthy.
- If I hadn’t studied mathematics, I definitely would have chosen art.
- I almost moved to New York for work, but instead, I spent two winters in Tenerife thanks to remote work.
- At heart, I’m an adventurer. I’ve hitchhiked in over twenty countries, and I’m comfortable stepping outside my comfort zone and traveling light.
- I never dyed my hair but I fell in love with having synthetic coloured braids because it makes me look different from a normal person.
- I’ve been volunteering a lot. I teach women programming in non-profit organization and I’ve been helping in the kitchen in international handbalancing camp.
- My gymnastics vision is to continue inspiring people in gymnastics and acrobatics, keep coaching, and lead by example.
- My IT vision is to be a role model for women in the tech industry. I break stereotypes and show that women can excel in programming and leadership.
Artistic Gymnast
My journey in movement has started at the age of three when I’ve first embraced gymnastics. Training five times a week, I started competing at the age of six.
I actively participated in the Czech Gymnastics Championship every year from 2008 to 2014, as well as the Czech Olympics for Kids and Youth, and Moravian Cup in Gymnastics.
Although I concluded my professional competitive career at the end of high school, my passion for gymnastics endured, driving me to persist with regular training. I became a certified Gymnastics coach in 2021.
Achievements
- 7th place in 2011, Czech Gymnastics Championship
- 9th place in 2012, Czech Gymnastics Championship
- 1st place in 2013, Moravian Cup in Artistic Gymnastics: winner of five gymnastics competitions
- 6th place in 2013, Czech Gymnastics Championship, 2nd place on the floor
Trampolinist
While starting a collaboration with trampoline park JumpPark in Prague in 2017, I became addicted to trampolines. I have transferred my gymnastics moves to trampolines and learned many new skills including double flips in combinations.
In 2021 I became a certified Coach of trampolines issued by the Czech Gymnastics Federation.
Aerial Hoop Artist
Enduring a keen interest in the new circus, I discovered my passion for the aerial hoop in November 2022.
I regard the aerial hoop as my primary sport in 2023 and train two to three times a week in Prague (Firefly Studio) and Puerto de la Cruz, Tenerife (Love Yoga studio and Ascension Yoga Shala studio). I have performed in the aerial hoop in Tenerife, Fuerteventura and also in the Czech Republic in 2023.
I’ve been participating in my first aerial hoop competition Czech Aerial Hoop Art in 2024 I will be performing in Roztoč fest in August 2024.
